“At first I understood «feminism» as something much more radical, but in the bad sense. I was never a bigot fan. And that’s what happened to me: I felt it like a bigotry. I interpreted it as something more reactionary.
And it is ironic because today, just thinking that there is a reactionary or combative side in feminism turns out to be attractive and totally necessary.
There are processes that can not be broken talking because there is a historical androcentrism that limits us at all levels.
So, today, feminism changed me. It is that phrase that says «Once you put on your violet glasses, nothing is the same anymore».” – Mara, 31 years old

“Throughout our lives we have always been more worried about getting pregnant than having a sexually transmitted disease. And you wonder «Why is that?» Maybe you think «Well, because you’re young». But no. It is assumed that if one faces motherhood and is young, the biggest possibility is that you are a single mother. Then your fear is the coercion of liberties. And we live in a world immersed in a lack of freedoms.” – Mara, 31 years old

“If I already know that I want to be a mother, I have to make certain decisions based on that. And if tomorrow I do not become one because it was not meant to be, that’s ok. But it is different if it is because I got stuck in a relationship that was super complicated and took me to really ugly places. I cannot resign to my desire for someone else. And I did that in the past. But now, from this place of consciousness, I cannot do it because it would be betraying myself.” – Mara, 31 years old

«I have a pretty radical position regarding prostitution and pornography. It is confused with empowerment, but they are all patriarchal services. There is no feminist pornography. There is no person who practices prostitution and is not making a vexation of the soul.» – Mara, 31 years old

«Sometimes we ask ourselves «Why do we all women have these insecurities? Why do we think we are insufficient?» And it’s because all they have to say to underestimate us has to do with quantitative measures. «You saturate me», for example. There is like a numerical vexation in us.» – Mara, 31 years old
